Johnny Wilkins is a sound artist from Austin, Texas. He grew up in Lampasas, Texas, and found his way to Lubbock, where he attended university and began playing the drums. Soon after, he joined a band and relocated to Austin, where he’s lived ever since. While playing the drums in various indie/post-rock bands, he and a friend formed the guitar-based ambient project FiRES WERE SHOT in 1998 and released records on labels such as Holodeck, Asphodel Ltd., and Quiet Design. The project performed with such acts as Brian McBride, Windy and Carl, thisquietarmy, ST37, My Education, and many more. Most recently, Wilkins has released several solo records under the names One Far West and Many Pretty Blooms.
