One of the great things about being a sound designer in New York City - you can always find the machine you need for the job. Last week we picked up an ASR-X Pro for next to nothing because it was "broken". Well, two rotary encoders and and hour of labor was all it took to get this thing up to snuff.
Ensoniq was way ahead of its time with the ASR series. The X and 10 (sampling workstation) are still seriously innovative sound design tools.
Looking forward to putting this one into production - but first we want to convert the floppy to a CF card!
